Abstract

The article discusses relevant issues such as global changes in modern society, informatization, technogenic civilization, artificial intelligence, and the deep penetration of the digital space into the lives of young people, leading to moral decay, deviation from humanitarian principles, and the widespread occurrence of phenomena such as sexual changes, homosexuality, and domestic violence among the youth. These issues are also linked to the insufficient use or limited application of the heritage of our ancestors in child upbringing, the disconnection of folk pedagogy from modern educational technologies, the orientation towards Western culture, and the lack of competence among educators in national education matters. The aim and objectives of the study are to examine the upbringing experience of our ancestors, investigate their educational potential, propose ways to incorporate this experience into educational activities, analyze the moral condition of youth in modern society, define methods of applying elements of folk pedagogy in education, and organize extracurricular activities related to national traditions. The article outlines ways of organizing extracurricular hours for elementary school students based on national characteristics. It also presents a specific example of planning and conducting effective extracurricular hours. The article discusses methods for efficiently using interactive approaches, game elements, slide shows, video content, images, gamification, proverbs, sayings, and other methods that can awaken children’s involvement.
