A comparison of the therapeutic efficacy of two complex estrus synchronization regimens in cows for the treatment of follicular cystic ovarian disease (FCD) is presented. Both regimens include progesterone-containing drugs that improve fertility in treated animals. It was found that parenteral administration of progesterone in the form of Progestamag increases blood progesterone concentrations compared to pre-treatment levels. The peak circulating hormone concentration is recorded on the fourth day of the synchronization protocol. Estrus is detected in 70% of animals, and pregnancy is achieved in 55%. The use of conventional hormonal synchronization protocols at Saryagash LLP, such as Ovsynch, results in lower progesterone concentrations and reduced reproductive performance. The inclusion of a “progesterone block” ensures a more uniform release of the hormone into the bloodstream, promoting the development of estrous behavior. Under the Ovsynch protocol, estrus is detected in 50% of cows, while pregnancy is confirmed in 30%. The progesterone module, represented by the injectable drug Progestamag, demonstrated higher therapeutic efficacy than the standard regimen, with a 20% increase in estrus induction and a 25% increase in pregnancy rates. The study involved 10 animals and can therefore be considered a pilot trial.
