This paper presents the results of the development of a domestic test system based on real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for the identification of equine influenza virus type A subtype H3, which is planned to be used in veterinary practice. As a result of the studies, the EqInf-H3F1/EqInf-H3R1 primers with the EqInf-H3P1 probe were selected and the conditions for setting up PCR were worked out. Specificity and sensitivity were tested on a panel of samples consisting of both viral and bacterial respiratory pathogens. No false-positive, false-negative or questionable results were found during the study. The test system showed high analytical sensitivity and specificity. As a result of the work carried out, a domestic diagnostic test system was developed for the identification of the equine influenza virus.
