The most frequent cases of mass keratoconjunctivitis in cattle are recorded in the spring and summer, so many owners of farms and peasant farms in most cases neglect to carry out diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive measures against infectious keratoconjunctivitis in autumn and winter. But in February 2022, in one of the peasant farms of East Kazakhstan, a massive eye injury was detected in cattle of the Kazakh white-headed breed of different sex and age groups. In order to identify the cause of infectious keratoconjunctivitis, a mass clinical examination of cattle in the peasant economy of the region was carried out. Also during the study, direct sampling was made from the affected eyes, both in young animals under the age of 1 year, and in adult livestock for bacteriological examination in animals with clinical signs of infectious keratoconjunctivitis of different stages of the development of the disease. As a result of the research, the cultures of bacteria isolated by us were characterized by biological and biochemical properties typical of the species Moraxella bovoculi. The results of the research showed that this pathogen was found in the territory of East Kazakhstan in the winter. Thus, the need for timely diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the disease throughout the year is confirmed.
