The article provides information on the use of combined anesthesia for surgical castration of stallions in the field.
In today's society, there has recently been an increased focus on animal welfare and the identification and relief of pain in farm animals. In agriculture, animals are subjected to painful procedures without anesthesia.
The problem in recommending analgesic therapy for different types of animals undergoing certain procedures is to develop an effective strategy that can reliably assess pain. Constant research is required, both for painkillers and methods of pain relief.
Throughout the world, changing moral and ethical concerns have led societies to demand better methods of introducing agriculture and better conditions for farm animals. In this regard, proper pain management is fundamental to improving the welfare of farm animals.
Currently, in the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the veterinary practice of surgical castration of stallions in the field, combined anesthesia is not used. In our studies, we tried in farm conditions to conduct general and local anesthesia during the surgical castration of stallions.
