The article presents the results of a study on the growth, development, and economic efficiency of raising Simmental bulls of different production types under the conditions of Northern Kazakhstan. The experiment was conducted at an agricultural enterprise. Three groups of animals, with 12 bulls in each group, were formed and kept under identical feeding and housing conditions. Production type was found to have a statistically significant effect on animal productivity indicators (P<0.05–0.001). The highest results were obtained in meat-and-dairy-type bulls: their live weight at 18 months of age reached 513.5 kg, and their average daily weight gain was 915 g. Analysis of variance showed that this factor accounted for a substantial proportion of the variation in live weight (η² up to 0.508). Regression analysis revealed a strong relationship between live weight and animal age (R²=0.997–0.999). The economic assessment showed that raising meat-and-dairy-type bulls generated the highest profit (KZT 252,600) and profitability level (69.5%), as well as the lowest production cost (KZT 754/kg). The results confirm the high efficiency of using meat-and-dairy-type bulls for beef production.
