Abstract

The article shows the results of the analysis of the agro-climatic conditions of Akmola region territory for 30 years period. The possibilities of introducing silage sorghum on the basis of climatic resources of different agricultural zones have been studied.

Field experiments were carried out in 2020-2022 at "Elite" research and manufacturing complex of Akmola region. The results are presented for the sugar sorghum variety "Kapital".

On the territory of the region, the specifics of precipitation in the summer period can be traced. The largest number of precipitation 29.7 ... 32.0% can be attributed to July. The interstage periods of sorghum were compared with monthly precipitation. The critical period in terms of water consumption "shooting" coincides in time with July maximum precipitation.

Biologically available heat resources in agricultural zones are sufficient for the cultivation of sugar sorghum. The influence of hot dry winds, the duration of which is measured by "ballast" temperatures, which were significant for sugar sorghum, was studied only in the southern part of the region. The probability of damage to plants by late spring and early autumn frosts was calculated.

The agro-climatic resources of the agricultural zones of the hill-plain steppe of Northern Kazakhstan differ significantly, which makes it possible to grow early and mid-ripening varieties and hybrids.
