PEDAGOGICAL CONDITIONS FOR THE FORMATION OF NATURAL SCIENCE FUNCTIONAL LITERACY IN A SMALL SCHOOL

The article considers the peculiarities of the pedagogical process in a small school for the formation of functional natural science literacy of students. Natural science functional literacy is defined as the ability to operate with natural science knowledge in real-world situations. The features of the educational process in a small school, the role of the teacher's pedagogical and subject competence in the process of forming functional literacy are analyzed. In the main school, at the present stage, the student is placed in the center of the educational process. Attention is focused on the development of the student, the formation of his motivational sphere and independent style of thinking. The influence of the created pedagogical conditions on the lessons of subjects of the natural science direction and in extracurricular activities on the formation of functional natural science literacy was revealed. The requirements for the pedagogical conditions of the educational environment are specified, taking into account the professional readiness of teachers, inter-subject and intra-subject ties, and the age characteristics of students. The authors have identified the actual problems of pedagogical conditions for the formation of natural science literacy of students in a small school in the conditions of the updated content of education. And also the conditions of small schools in which it is necessary to implement both basic and additional educational programs of the natural science cycle for efficiency are considered.
