THE EXPERIENCE OF IMPLEMENTING INTERNATIONALIZATION AT HOME IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENTS’ LINGUOCULTURAL COMPETENCIES

This article deals with the development of students' linguocultural competencies through internationalization at home. The concept of internationalization at home is comprehensively analyzed, and its implementation and effectiveness in higher educational institutions are studied. In addition, the obstacles and difficulties in the implementation of internationalization at home are identified.
30 students of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and 30 students of the Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University participated in the research. Quantitative and qualitative methods were used to achieve the research objectives. Students' language skills were measured quantitatively. During the interview, the participants shared their experiences, the effectiveness of the internationalization program at home was determined. Moreover, the research findings highlight the importance of institutional support, resources and educator training for the successful implementation of internationalization at home, as reflected in the identified obstacles and challenges.
The participants' suggestions provide valuable guidance for higher education institutions seeking to improve their practices in this field. The positive effect of collaborative online classes on the development of linguocultural competencies shows the potential of internationalization at home as an effective pedagogical approach. Higher education institutions can integrate such programs into their curriculum to improve the language and cultural proficiency of their students.
