The article considers the family as the main institution that provides a certain moral and psychological climate, which is the basis for the formation of the child's personality, and states that for children the family is the First School of communication with people, and the influence of these aspects on the development of the child is considered in detail. The article deals with the individual characteristics of children in single-parent families by psychologists M. I. Buyanov, A.V. Petrovsky and M. V..The work of polevaya, family psychotherapists E. R. Eidemiller and V. V. Yustitskis and psychoanalyst V. The scientific views of Burian and other scientists are considered in detail, arguments are given. Types of families: an incompatible family, a broken family, the most common types of improper parenting that arose as a result of leaving one parent's family: hyper protection, hypo protection, emotional rejection, a state of mistreatment and high moral responsibility, and the impact of each type on the formation of a child's personality was discussed.
It has been proven that the absence of one of the parents leads to a violation of the child's mental development, a decrease in his social activity, personality deformities and a violation of the process of gender-role identification, as well as various deviations in behavior and mental health. Some differences between children in full and single-parent families are considered.
