Currently, the humanities face challenges and needs related to the formation of metacompetencies in students and professionals in the field. Metacompetencies are skills and strategies that contribute to successful knowledge acquisition and development of personal qualities. The authors consider metacompetencies as supra-subject abilities including metacognition, metaplanning, metacognition and self-regulation. Metacompetencies such as critical thinking, creative problem solving, communication skills, and self-reflection play an important role in success in the liberal arts professions.
This article proposes an approach to developing a Roadmap for metacompetency development in a humanities major based on a literature review and expert opinion. The key components and stages of Roadmap development are considered, as well as methods and tools that can be used to create the Roadmap; examples of successful Roadmap implementation are presented.
The study utilizes qualitative methods such as research literature review, expert interviews, and group discussions to identify key aspects of metacompetencies.
The perspectives and methods presented in the article can be useful for educators, administrators and researchers interested in developing effective educational programs and practices for students in the humanities. This contributes to improving the quality of education, increasing the professional training of graduates and their competitiveness in the labor market.
