Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of an urgent problem of modern pedagogy, which have theoretical and practical significance for the psychological and pedagogical support of students in the context of early profilisation. The analysis of the essential characteristics of the term "psychological culture of personality" in the context of the problem under study is carried out. The purpose of the pedagogical experiment was to increase the level of psychological culture of parents as an important factor influencing the students’ personality for effective support of children in choosing a future professional path. The results of the study revealed the influence of the psychological culture of parents on child-parent relations and the personality of students during their professional self-determination. The article describes the content of the experimental work and the detailed diagnosis of indicators of the psychological culture of parents. The online course developed and tested by the authors made enabled to achieve positive dynamics of indicators of psychological culture of parents, which greatly contributed to productive interaction between parents and children, improvement of the psychological climate in the family and conscious professional self-determination of students. In the course of the study, a whole range of research methods – theoretical, empirical and statistical – was used to achieve the tasks set. O.I. Motov's methodology was used in the diagnosis of the parameters of the psychological culture of parents. The use of a full range of research methods and appropriate methodology contributed to the achievement of the research goal with the scientific organization of experimental work. All the results obtained are summarized and presented in the main conclusions of the study.
